Foreign Buyers Flock to warmer States for Second Homes

Terry Riffe | July 7, 2015

An Flamand, Orlando Vacation RealtyForeign Buyers Flock to warmer States for Second Homes. It’s not uncommon to hear of friends, family and neighbors packing up and heading to second homes in warmer states during the winter months. After all, many parts of the country experience brutally long bouts of cold and snowy weather. However, U.S. citizens are not the only people looking to spend at least some of their year down south, whatever the reason. According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2015 Profile of International Home Buying Activity, just four states accounted for half of all international home sales: Florida (21 percent), California (16 percent), Texas (8 percent) and Arizona (5 percent).

While the National Association of REALTORS® is just now releasing these figures, this is a trend that I have witnessed for quite some time now. Specifically, I have found that upwards of 70 percent of our Clientele are International. Originally from Belgium myself, I am truly educated and knowledgeable in all the facets of real estate transactions that accompany foreigners buying or selling in the United States.

If you are ready to buy or sell in the Orlando area, email me An@orlandovacationrealty.com or give me a call 1 (407) 800-0888. I am ready to assist you with all of your real estate needs, or answer any questions you may have.
